Alligator Adventure at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach is home to over 200 species of animals, including a wide array of alligators, crocodiles, exotic birds, tortoises, cats, kangaroos, wolves, lemurs, snakes and more. This attraction offers scheduled professional feedings, keeper talks, and shows throughout the day to keep you engaged as you wander through the property.  At the end of the day, if you find that you and your party have not had enough of what Alligator Adventure has to offer, you can return the next day for free!  That’s right, included in your ticket price is a free 2nd day at the park. Alligator Adventure is located on hwy 17 just outside of Barefoot Landing, next to Duplin Winery.  Such close proximity to Duplin Winery provides a natural pairing with Alligator Adventure.  Your park entrance fee grants you a free ($5 value) wine tasting of at least 10 different wines, crackers, and a complimentary wine glass to take home with you.  If you are like my husband and I, you’ll probably want to upgrade to the deluxe tasting ($5 cost) which gives you small cup of dip for your crackers.  (Ours was a cream cheese habanero-pineapple dip that was amazing. I don’t like spicy food, but this had the flavor without the heat. We purchased the habenero-pineapple salsa to bring home and mix with cream cheese ourselves.) Before leaving Duplin, take a moment to taste their homemade fudge.  My favorite was the mint chocolate fudge which I had to buy as well.  All-in-all, this pairing of adventure and libations appeals to the child and adult in all of us.
